HELLO AND WELCOME TO LITTLE SWEETSBURY, a fictitious village which is home to 5 friends – Skyla, Willow, Bianca, Arlan and Theo who are looking forward to sharing their life experiences with you.  Join them one by one on their journeys of discovery. Can you relate to how they’re feeling?  Do you know someone else who might feel the same way?

Skyla’s very excited to be the first of her friends to share her experience with you about how the Snowflake Fairy made her dream come true. She hopes you enjoy reading her story!

BOOK REVIEWS
  • Skyla and the Snowflake Fairy is a magical story which children and their grown-ups will all relate to – we can all remember that feeling of waiting for the snow so we can go out and play in the winter wonderland!  This book captures the anticipation and joy felt by children and makes for a really special story which children will want to read again and again.  This book has lots of lovely touches but I particularly like the questions posed to the readers at the end of the story – this enables children to feel like this book speaks directly to them.  It also encourages a lovely conversation between carers and their children about the story. A 5/5 from me! A wonderful book which I’m sure will be a firm favourite in many houses at bedtime.

Book: Skyla and the Snowflake Fairy

  • My two daughters and I read this together and thoroughly enjoyed it!  My eldest (7) made reference to snow that we’d had a month prior and she could relate to the little girl as she waited eagerly for the snow to fall.   There is something very magical about this book.  The illustrations complement the story beautifully – a lovely timeless book!

Book: Skyla and the Snowflake Fairy

  • This story must have really resonated with my 5yr old son.  We read it at bedtime and the next morning, as I was helping him dress, he looked out of the window and said, “The snow fairy didn’t come.  I had a dream about her last night and was hoping she might visit.  I will say some magic words like Skyla.”  He then put his hands together and stood at the window whispering quietly.  He was obviously charmed by this book.

Book: Skyla and the Snowflake Fairy

  • Gorgeous book! Well written, fun and engaging! Much more than just a beautiful story! The book begins with a lovely introduction, describing the characters and village and there’s even a map which invites your child to spot the sweet sounding road names.  My 6 and 1 year old were captivated by the rhyming story and the illustrations, and there was a bit of discussion about the Snowflake Fairy sending snow our way!  The quiz at the end was a complete hit with my slightly competitive (!) 6 year old but also includes lovely questions about what your child enjoys about the snow and what their wishes are.  Just gorgeous!

Book: Skyla and the Snowflake Fairy

  • A lovely book, I love the illustrations. This is the most professional example of self publishing I’ve seen! This would be a lovely gift or given as alternative to goodie bags for a birthday party for little ones around age 4-7.
